JAMB Registrar Prof. Aina Resolves Over 5,000 Pending Complaints in Five Days

The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has resolved more than 5,000 pending complaints from candidates and other applicants within five days of assuming the initiative.

The complaints, according to JAMB, involved difficulties with profile code creation, biometric verification failures, payment issues, e-PINs, examination venues, technical challenges and problems uploading required documents.

The development followed Prof. Aina’s decision to strengthen the Board’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit as part of efforts to ensure faster resolution of outstanding complaints and improve service delivery to candidates.

According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, the Registrar temporarily relocated his office to the SERVICOM Unit to obtain first-hand knowledge of the challenges confronting candidates and other clients.

The statement said the move enabled the Registrar to directly engage with the complaints process and facilitate the immediate resolution of cases that had remained pending.

Some of the complaints reportedly came from candidates who could no longer access telephone numbers previously used during registration, making it difficult for them to generate their profile codes.

Other cases included biometric failures, payment-related challenges, inappropriate examination centres, e-PIN issues, technical difficulties and challenges associated with uploading documents.

JAMB said the Registrar’s action underscores his commitment to repositioning the Board through effective communication, responsive administration and improved customer service.

The Board added that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that candidates and other stakeholders receive services commensurate with the fees they pay, while making the admission examination process more efficient and accessible.

The resolution of the complaints is expected to provide relief to thousands of candidates who had encountered difficulties with various aspects of their JAMB registration and examination-related processes.
