An Osun State Chief Magistrate's Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the remand of Kareem Saheed, also known as "Tanfeani," over the alleged murder of a 14-year-old boy, Master Olapade Ezekiel, in Ilobu, Osun State.
The remand order, issued by Chief Magistrate Dr. O.A. Ayilara on June 29, 2026, directed that the suspect be held at the Ilesa or Ile-Ife Correctional Centre for 14 days pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the formal filing of charges.
According to the court document, the suspect is being investigated over allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms, and the murder of the teenager, who was reportedly killed in Ilobu on June 21, 2026.
The order followed an ex parte motion filed by the Osun State Ministry of Justice through its legal representatives. After considering the motion and supporting affidavit, the court granted the application for the suspect's remand.
The court also directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan, to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice to facilitate further prosecution.
The tragic killing of Master Ezekiel has generated widespread public concern, with residents and stakeholders calling for justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The case has been adjourned pending the receipt of the DPP's legal advice and the filing of appropriate charges before the court.
