The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released data showing that a total of 2,339,233 voters are registered across the 30 local government areas of Osun State ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
According to the data contained in the voter register released by the commission, Osun State has 332 wards and 3,763 polling units across the state.
The figures show that Osogbo Local Government Area has the highest number of registered voters, with 167,704 voters across 15 wards and 282 polling units.
It is followed by Ife East, which has 128,515 registered voters in 10 wards and 200 polling units, while Olurunda has 123,063 voters across 11 wards and 193 polling units.
Ife Central also recorded a significant voter population, with 122,454 registered voters, 11 wards and 215 polling units.
Other local government areas with relatively high voter figures include Ede North, with 96,644 voters; Irewolé, 96,528; Ifelodun, 94,870; Ilesa East, 89,491; Ejigbo, 87,676; and Ilesa West, 86,699.
At the lower end of the register, Ifedayo LGA has the smallest number of registered voters, with 28,361, followed by Boluwaduro, with 29,797.
The data further shows that Odo-Otin has 82,574 registered voters, Oriade 84,283, Iwo 106,814, Irepodun 67,131, Ife North 65,718, Ife South 66,255 and Isokan 65,379.
The release of the figures provides an indication of the distribution of the electorate across the state ahead of the governorship poll, with the larger voter populations concentrated in major urban and densely populated local government areas.
With a total of 2,339,233 registered voters, 3,763 polling units and 332 wards, the figures are expected to form an important reference point for political parties, candidates, election observers and other stakeholders as preparations intensify for the 2026 Osun governorship election.
