Political tensions in Osun State have heightened following allegations by Abuja-based lawyer and spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council (TICC), Pelumi Olajengbesi, that individuals allegedly linked to the death of Ajayi Aderogba, popularly known as Rogba, may be moved out of the country before the conclusion of police investigations.
In a statement shared on social media, Olajengbesi alleged that former federal lawmaker, Rep. Wole Oke, was making arrangements for some individuals, including a personal aide and other associates, to travel abroad.
According to him, information available to his group suggested that the individuals should instead be made available to law enforcement authorities for questioning in connection with the incident.
"The death of Rogba must not go in vain. All we want is justice," Olajengbesi stated, while calling on relevant authorities, including immigration officials and the police, to ensure that investigations are not compromised.
He further claimed that some of the named individuals were mentioned by Aderogba's widow, whom he described as an eyewitness to the incident that led to her husband's death.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and no official statement has been issued by Rep. Wole Oke regarding the claims as of the time of filing this report. Similarly, security agencies have yet to publicly confirm whether any of the individuals mentioned are under investigation or have been designated as persons of interest.
The death of Aderogba has continued to generate reactions across parts of Osun State, with various stakeholders calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure accountability where necessary.
Authorities are expected to continue their investigations as concerns grow over rising political tensions ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election.
