The leadership of the Accord Party in Ward 8, Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State, has clarified its position on the viral video released by Mr. Taoreed Faronbi, stating that it neither instructed nor compelled him to record or publish the video.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ward leadership confirmed that Faronbi is a recognised member of the Accord Party in Ward 8 and had approached party leaders for assistance following an incident he reported.

According to the statement, the ward leaders, out of concern for his safety and welfare, escalated the matter to the party's overall leader in Osogbo, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, to seek guidance on the appropriate course of action.

The party said that after listening to Faronbi's account, Igbalaye advised that the matter should be formally reported to the Nigeria Police Force for proper investigation and necessary action.

It stressed that the advice was given solely to ensure due process and that the party's leaders acted in the best interest of the member.

The ward leadership, however, said it was surprised by the circulation of Faronbi's video, insisting that neither the leadership nor members of Accord Ward 8 had prior knowledge of its content or intended release.

"At no time did our leaders compel or instruct Mr. Faronbi to record or release any video. The video currently circulating came as a surprise to members and leaders of Accord Ward 8, as we had no prior knowledge of its content or its release," the statement read.

The party also dismissed claims that Faronbi had ceased to be a member of the Accord Party, stating that it had not received any formal resignation letter from him.

According to the ward executives, Faronbi remained a registered member of the party, adding that communication with him only became limited after the incident.

The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to peace, lawful conduct, and the protection of all party members, maintaining that its intervention was motivated solely by concern for one of its members who sought assistance.

The statement was signed by the leadership of the Accord Party, Ward 8, Osogbo Local Government.
