The Asejere Youth Vanguard has commended the Osun State Police Command for the arrest of 24 suspected cultists and political thugs allegedly involved in activities capable of disrupting the peace and security of the state.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Elénìyàn Amos Oyeyemi, the group praised the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips, as well as officers and men of the Command, for what it described as their professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.
The youth group said the recent operation reflects the Command's determination to rid Osun State of criminal elements responsible for cult-related violence, political thuggery, and other forms of criminality that threaten public safety.
According to the statement, the successful operation has boosted public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force's ability to maintain law and order, stressing that no individual or group, irrespective of political affiliation or influence, should be allowed to undermine the peace and stability of the state.
While applauding the Police Command for the feat, the Asejere Youth Vanguard urged the security agency not to relent in its efforts but to intensify intelligence-driven operations until total peace, law, and order are fully restored across Osun State.
The group also called for thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of all suspects arrested during the operation, insisting that anyone found culpable should face the full weight of the law.
It further appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would aid crime prevention and strengthen public safety.
Expressing optimism about the state's security outlook, the Asejere Youth Vanguard said sustained collaboration between the police and members of the public would ensure lasting peace, security, and development across Osun State.
